It's a wonderful feeling when you look down at your calendar for the upcoming month & realize this is really happening. Less then a month ago I decided to go with my heart and pursue my passion & I am so glad I did. I have over five sessions booked for February & honestly I thought it would be months before I booked anything. My blog has had over 1000 page views in less then a month, thanks to all my super supportive friends and family! Life is good, Nothing will stop me now!

The boys are very much into trains right now, They run around yelling "All Aboard" & "Choo-Choo" and we are forever watching Thomas the Train! Well right now my son is having a major love-hate relationship with his train table, He wants to spend hours and hours going around and around but only having one hand to work with causes quite the frustration. We have one more week in the sling, then hopefully we can say goodbye to it forever! Just ONE more week...I think we can...I think we can..Choo Choo!

Another snowy day here in Maryland! & I just adore the macro option on my camera! We received about 5-8 inches of snow yesterday evening into the early morning...So most of our day was spent outside throwing snowballs & shoveling our cars out! Luckily all the neighbors come together & help dig out the road...since our roads are never touched by a snow plow. 

In other news, February is booking up fast & I couldn't be happier. Thank you again to all my wonderful and supportive family & friends!

Welcome to my chaos of a desk! I'm currently working on five or six different projects right now & it feels great! The month of February is starting to book up & that is a wonderful feeling. I have my first engagement session booked for February, thanks to a wonderful friend! Also trying to fit my little sister in for a engagement session but mother nature is just not working in our favor. I have Valentine Mini Sessions booked for the first of the month & I've been crafting away! & the list goes on and on....It's so crazy how something as small as a desk can make you feel so complete & settled. I'm just so in love with my new work space!

Well if you know me at all I am a little finicky about messes & stuff being put back where it belongs. Playdoh is just one of those things that makes me feel a little crazy..I don't like when the colors mix together & I surely don't like when the tiny pieces of Playdoh end up all over my floor. Thank you Aunt MiMi & Ashley for the wonderful Christmas gift....Just kidding, We love ya! Anyway we decided to break the Playdoh out today to beat some of this winter boredom. All & all it was a good experience for both of us :) I am learning everyday to not be so picky about the small things...Hey I have even come to terms that all the toys will not end up in there assigned bins..so that's a start, right?!

I am beyond excited!!!!!! I decided that I am going to start printing out all of my Project 365 pictures to put into an album, but then started looking into different options rather then having 365 4x6's! So friend and I were talking recently about the different quality of photo prints & she suggested Walgreen's! I decided to browse Walgreen's photo site to see what they have to offer & I remembered they have photo collages in 4X6, 5X7 & 8X10...PERFECT! So here they are :) I am so happy with the quality & I can't wait to find the perfect album to put them in! What a great start to my portfolio, don't ya think?!

It's been very quiet & low key at our home this week..with my son's most recent injury we are on strict orders to have a quiet..relaxed..sling wearin' three weeks! So that's just what were doing..watching movies, reading tons of books & coloring :) a secret love of mine! As a kid I don't think there was anything better then having a coloring & cartoon day when you stayed home sick from school...Don't you agree?! We picked up some new coloring books today & broke out the new box of 64 crayons..& just went to town coloring away! & I have to say my son is becoming quite the lefty...I do believe he will be right handed but hey maybe this injury will have him using both hands equally! 

Anyway it's crazy how a box of 64 crayons can trigger so many wonderful memories...Right Meg?! My sister and I have an old box of crayons just like this one that once belonged to our Aunt Connie, We would always spend Friday nights over her house while our parents went bowling...Playing Sega, Making Pizza, Nascar Racing to Blockbuster & of course coloring/making silly pictures! We still to this day have that box of crayons and treasure it as though it was the most expensive piece of jewelry ever!!!

I was on a mad dash to take some pictures of the sun before it set today, zooming in & out of parking lots looking for the best place to snap some pictures. I was running out of time..so I settled for the elementary school parking lot and started going to town. I am pretty happy with my results, What do you think?!

We are totally obsessing over fruit lately, seriously every time I go grocery shopping I MUST get some kind of yummy fruit! We enjoyed some of these beauties for breakfast...lunch...& even dinner. Most of the state woke up to an Icy Wonderland this morning, I unfortunately had to experience the awful stuff last night. It was Bingo night for Pop's Birthday but with some miscommunication and confusion it turned into a girls night at the Bingo hall! Leaving was a nightmare, the cars and roads were covered in ice & what usually would of taken me 5 minutes to get home..turned into a very slow & cautious 15 minutes. When we woke up this morning it was even worse but I couldn't help but take in the beauty of the shiny ice droplets hanging from the trees...Simply Icy!

I simply LOVE decorating for the holidays, but once you put the fall wreaths & then the Christmas tree away..it's kinda boring & depressing...Cold & Snowy January but since it's about a month until Valentine's Day, I'm Simply Lovin' all my lovey heart decorations. All the pinks, reds, flowers, chocolates...& of course all the hearts just puts a big ol' smile on my face. Our door has this super cute heart wreath pictured above & Lil Man decorated the windows with sticky hearts, were just loving love...Cupid is already starting to prepare for the 14th :)

Here we go..This morning we noticed a huge difference between our sons right and left shoulder area, so off we went BACK to the after hours office to have an x-ray done..no if's ands or buts. Well my Mommy instinct was right, he has a broken collar bone, completely snapped right in half...it seriously just breaks my heart. So I am using his x-ray pic for Project 365 because I have one very important little boy to take care of now & won't be using my camera today. We have to see a pediatric orthopedic surgeon..hopefully tomorrow..but for now he's wearing his sling & taking it easy.

..well I'm a day late on this post, it seriously has been on of those kinda weekends. My poor little boy fell out of his toddler bed late Friday night while sleeping. Saturday morning he woke up miserable, crying his eyes out & just wanted Daddy to hold him. We decided to take him to one of those after hours doctor offices, they were very quick & had us in and out within 30 minutes. The doctors conclusion was he pulled a muscle in his shoulder & it's sprained, I was a little hesitant about what she thought but figured I didn't see anything out of the ordinary so will go with it. So off we went with our toddler size sling & childrens motrin..

Sometimes you just need a good laugh, & lately that's exactly how I've been feeling. I'm not a huge book reader & it really has to get my attention in the first chapter to keep me hooked. So I guess you can assume since your seeing this in Project 365, I'm hooked. The book is seriously so funny, & hits life's nail right on the head. Jenny McCarthy tells it exactly how it is, there is definitely no shame in her game! My sister & I went to Daedalus Books & Music Warehouse in Columbia, MD on Thursday looking for Potty books for the newly training toddler, unfortunately no such luck on the potty books but we did end up getting a couple kids books & of course "Life Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy. Seriously if you've never been to Daedalus Warehouse, it's a MUST! Everything is amazingly priced, this book on Amazon is priced at $11.16..at Daedalus I bought it for $2.98 :) Now go, What are you waiting for?!

Yes that's right, Week 2 of Paint the Town Purple..which can only mean one thing...We kicked some Kansas City Chief Booootay!! Each week the Ravens are in the play-offs the city of Baltimore will be "Painting the Town Purple"...This was Week One! & the picture above is for this weeks up and coming match-up against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday 1/15 @ 4:30pm. My Sister, Lil D & I were on a mission today, to find the Ravens head near BWI..lets just say this wasn't such an easy task, between the snow & location of the bird I believe we circled the airport loop one or two times...We are some devoted fans! I'll also be praying to the football gods that the Jets pull out a win on Sunday*FAT CHANCE* but with a win from the Ravens & the Jets that would mean the BALTIMORE RAVENS will be hosting the AFC Championship at HOME!!

Some days are definitely harder then others, & today is just one of those days.  I can not believe how many years have passed since I have seen or talked to my aunt, & not a day goes by that I don't miss her dearly. My heart hurts when I think about Lil Dustin never getting to meet my amazing Aunt Connie, She truly was one in a million. Sometimes I'll look into the sky & wonder if she's looking down upon us..protecting us but when I see a beautiful sky like the one above it's without a doubt she's there. Simply missing you..always & forever. RIP-To My Beautiful Aunt Connie

Snow Much Fun - Children Photography

Meet My Little Man, He's 2yrs old & full of energy! Within seconds of seeing it had snowed over night, He was pulling his boots, spidy hat, gloves & jacket out of the closet. Soo off we went into the cold snow, then I thought to myself why not turn this into a mini photo session...& I must say I am pretty happy with some of the pictures we captured this morning. & finally we have SNOW!! Here in MD, We've been hearing for days about this "Big Snow Storm"..then it changed again & we'd only get about 1-3" around early afternoon..STILL NO SNOW. Finally around 3pm I look out the window & to my surprise Big Ol' Chunky Snowflakes are falling from the sky. I was beyond ecstatic, I love the snow & have been so excited to use the Macro/Close-up option on my camera. Well that snow only lasted a total of 5 minutes :( but I am pretty happy with the picture I was able to capture in that short time. Thankfully it finally started back up around 7pm & still is going strong...Woo Hoo!  Little Man & I have a snow-date tomorrow morning...Hmm I wonder what picture 8 of 365 will be!?

Oh Happy Day!!!  Yes that's right, I am one VERY HAPPY Mommy right now! Today, January 10th,2010 we started Potty Training! & let's just say it's been a total success so far. Lil Dust is 26 Months old & has been showing signs that he may just be ready to start the potty training process so what better then to start today! So I've spent most of my day sitting by the potty chair, reading "DUCK GOES POTTY", making potty sticker charts & jumping up and down when even the littlest bit of pee-pee hits the potty! We also decided to put together the Pirate Ship Santa brought Lil Dustin, It's awesome & he's been playing in it all day..hence the marker fingers in the picture. It's been an amazing day & my little munchkin is so proud of himself!

Mommy recommendations for soon-to-be & newly Potty Training Toddlers-

-DUCK GOES POTTY Book -Lil Dus LOVES this book & so do I! It's not the normal potty training book, the illustrations are so cute & a very easy read. Lil Dus basically reads the book to himself! It's so cute!

-BabyBjorn Potty Chair -It's so simple & easy to clean. It's perfect & we love it!

Bath Time is one of Lil Dustin's favorite times of day! We add some bubbles & dump the huge basket of toys in the water, then Dust does a little dance because he is so excited he can't even contain himself. I love taking Bath Time pictures, especially when were pouring water on his head & if you can see past the waterfall he's smiling from ear to ear. My camera captures every single bit of water being poured, it's so amazing!

If you know me, you know I am a HUGE Baltimore Ravens Fan! I love football and usually spend all day Sunday watching all the games. On January 9th, 2010, the Ravens will be heading to Missouri to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Wild-card matchup.  The picture you see above is just 1 of 250 Raven stencils that were placed all over Baltimore and the surrounding areas during the early morning hours on January 5th. This is just one of the many ways Baltimore is revving up the fans for the up & coming playoffs, I love my team Simply W.I.N. or lose!

My son & I woke up & to our surprise it had snowed while we were sleeping..Yippee! & to my 2yr old this is by far the most exciting thing in the whole entire world. So after we rushed through breakfast it was FINALLY time to go out and enjoy the dusting of snow Maryland received over night. I just can not get enough of his little camo boots, they are just the cutest things EVER...My Little Hunter in Training! So that's it, Day 3 of Project 365...Simply Snowy Morning!!!

This is my BEAUTIFUL sister, Megan and my HANDSOME son, Dustin...They are Simply My World!! Words can't even express what exactly these two mean to me and when I saw how amazing this picture turned out I just knew this had to be the 2nd installment of Project 365. My sister is by far the most amazing person I have ever known. Her strength, confidence and personality are just some of her wonderful characteristics & not only does she love me unconditionally she absolutely LOVES and ADORES Lil Dustin, her nephew & god-son. The bond these two share is unbelievable and this picture expresses it in every way possible.

Jan 5th, 2011, Day 1 of Project 365 & I can't even put into words how over the top excited I am to start this project. This project has been in the back of my mind all day...What would be the perfect picture? Where could I go to find some inspiration? So my wild toddler and I headed to the park, Yes it's cold and Yes we'd probably only be at the park for a grand total of 5 minutes but sometimes that's all you need to make it through the rest of the day. Of course camera in hand and snapping away picture after picture of my oh so adorable 2 year old it finally came to me as I was walking past one of the mirrors on the jungle gym, My 1st picture for the project will be of ME and my Canon Rebel T2i...Simply ME! This picture is so simple but yet captures so much meaning in everything that I plan to do in 2011. It's simply the perfect picture to start off this wonderful journey.

I have been doing lots of research and stumbled across a great project to not only help me learn more about photography but also to showcase my talents to all my loyal readers :) So here we go, on January 5th 2010 Simply You Photography will be taking part in Project 365!

What is Project 365? Project 365 is a photography project where you document a year of your life by taking a daily photo of anything.

Photographs document life and I am ready to share my passion of photography with the world. Let the fun begin!!

Welcome! I am brand new to blogger and also brand new to the photography world. I am extremely confident about this very exciting and scary adventure I am about to embark upon. I've been on the fence for awhile now thinking how, why or when this "photography thing" could work BUT I know it will and I just need to take this big leap of faith and DO IT! So as I am learning about Blogger and the photography world please be patient and don't give up on Simply You Photography! I am so ready for this and honestly coming up with the PERFECT name for my business was the hardest part. So here we go 2011, this will be my year!

If anyone is interested in having me photograph you, your kids, your family or pets for experience, Please contact me.
